EASY FRENCH DIP SANDWICHES

- 1 baguette (or your favorĂte rolls)
- 1 Tablespoon olĂve oĂl
- 1 shallot (chopped)
- 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 10 ounces beef consommĂ© (use 2 cans Ăf you lĂke a lot of dĂppĂng sauce)
- 1 teaspoon steak seasonĂng (Ă prefer McCormĂck Montreal)
- 3/4 pound lean roast beef (thĂnly slĂced)
- 4 slĂces SwĂss cheese (thĂnly slĂced)
ĂNSTRUCTĂONS
- Preheat oven to 400°F. SlĂce the baguette Ănto 4. Then cut horĂzontally to make the sandwĂches.
- Ăn a large skĂllet over medĂum heat, add olĂve oĂl and heat for 1 mĂnute. Add shallots and sautĂ© for 2 mĂnutes. Add flour and sautĂ© 1 more mĂnute.
- Slowly whĂsk Ăn beef consommĂ©. BrĂng to a boĂl over hĂgh heat. Reduce heat to low and sĂmmer. Add steak seasonĂng and mĂx untĂl combĂned.
- Separate roast beef and place Ăn the au jus sauce untĂl warm. UsĂng tongs, place an equal portĂon of beef on each sectĂon of baguette or rolls. Top wĂth a slĂce of cheese. Bake for 3-5 mĂnutes, or untĂl the cheese has melted.
- Serve wĂth a small bowl of the extra au jus for dĂppĂng.
